Bathroom Floor Plans - The Key Points

If you are preparing to make decisions about bathroom floor plans, this can be a truly enjoyable experience. While you may think it will be a time-consuming chore, or a difficult task, actually it can be a lot of fun. After all, designing a room that many people will use, in a manner for it to be both functional and nice in appearance, will be rewarding every step of the way.

The Key Points

The initial key points for your floor plan are the size, and what will be going into the room. If you are lucky enough to be designing the room from scratch, you will have the leeway of making the room as large or as small as you like.

In this case, designing the plans to be at least large enough to be completely comfortable for everyone who uses it will give the most pleasing results. If you are renovating your home, you can still have some degree of choice in the size of your bathroom; it is best if it has enough space to give ease in walking around, and ample space for your furnishings.

The furnishings that you wish to include should figure into your floor plans. If you prefer a bathroom that includes little more than the basics, you must consider the size of your shower, sink, and other inclusions when you are preparing to decide on the eventual size of your bathroom. Of course, if you wish to have a vanity table with matching stool, or other special extras, designing your bathroom on a larger scale from the beginning will result in increased enjoyment of your room when it is complete.

The Right Size For Your Home

In general, the scale of your bathroom should be appropriate to the size of your home. It is not necessary to have a bathroom that is so small that it is uncomfortable to move around in it, nor does a bathroom have to be large enough so it appears to be the focal point of your entire home. When you are preparing the floor plans, you will achieve the nicest effect if your room is spacious enough to be comfortable, yet not too big to be cozy.

Deciding precisely where you wish to place your bathroom furnishings is also important. If you think about it, you probably do not want your furnishings to be so close together that they will seem to be crowded, and therefore uncomfortable to use; but you probably also do not want everything to be spaced so far apart that your bathroom will appear to be nearly empty.

The Perfect Balance

You can get the perfect balance when you design your floor plans with the size and amount of your furnishings in mind, for in addition to making your room a "comfort-zone," it will also look as if everything in your bathroom was made especially for its custom fit.

After you have made all of the decisions about your floor plans, it is then up to you to conclude whether you wish to hire a professional to do the actual work or whether you would like to do it yourself. Either way, the bathroom floor plan you have designed is the best beginning for the perfect bathroom.
